An ecotone is the transitional area where two ecosystems meet.
We work at the intersection of land and water, and natural and built systems—helping clients design, restore, and steward landscapes that function as part of larger ecological systems, from the landscape to the individual property scale.
We are working to bridge the gap between traditional landscape restoration and landscape design by offering a variety of services that apply to both, and applying ecological principles to landscape design at all spatial scales.
About Jordan
I (Jordan Gilbert) am a fluvial geomorphologist by training with a strong background in ecology. I have a PhD in Geosciences, and am a research assistant professor in the Department of Water, Earth, and Environmental Sciences at Utah State University. I have focused my career on restoring riverscapes and landscapes. I have primarily worked on river and watershed restoration on public lands in collaboration with land management agencies. However, in doing so, it became evident that many critical landscapes are privately owned, and that incorporating ecological landscaping into my toolbox could reach a broader audience and ultimately result in a larger footprint of landscapes improved.
